Maximilian Mendel heads JLL’s residential investment team, focusing on transaction advisory of residential rental assets, student housing, co-living and other income-generating assets in the living sector.
He is a graduate of interdisciplinary spatial planning studies at the University of Dortmund. He received his PhD at the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning of the Polish Academy of Sciences. His dissertation concerned the role of residential developers in the transformation of urban space in post-socialist Warsaw. He has been a speaker at many international real estate conferences and is the author of many publications and studies concerning real estate and spatial planning. He started his professional career at Bank BPH (at that time part of UniCredit) in Warsaw.
In 2006–2018 he was associated with the REAS consulting company, which as of 1 December 2018 became a part of JLL. He has been a leader in many research and advisory projects, not only in Poland but also in other housing markets in the CEE region, including the Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Ukraine.
He is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the Polish Association of Real Estate Advisers (PAREA).
